Salted Caramel Panettone Bread Pudding Recipe

Warm and comforting caramel, seasonal spices and Panettone, a traditional Italian Christmas treat, team up in this holiday-ready bread pudding.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 cups cubed panettone bread (from one large loaf)
  • salted caramel, for topping
  • powdered sugar, for topping

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla extract, almond extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Set aside.

Step 3

Place cubed bread into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Pour milk and egg mixture over bread and stir to combine.

Step 4

Bake for 35–40 minutes, until center of puffs up slightly.

Step 5

Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with salted caramel. Serve warm.
